Impact100 Sonoma members help Hanna Boys Center prepare for their Christmas Bazaar

Many of our Impact100 Sonoma members volunteer their time and expertise in support of our local nonprofits.  Here we  keep an ongoing list of current needs of the nonprofit organizations in our valley. If you represent a nonprofit (501c3) serving the Sonoma Valley community and would like to post a request for volunteers, please send the information to Communications@impact100sonoma.org.



FISH is in need of drivers, dispatchers, and people to pick up surplus food once a week from our local stories. Other assistance is needed for the First Wednesday Food Giveaway from Redwood Empire Food Bank held at Faith Lutheran Church, 19355 Arnold Drive. Hanna Boys Center is seeking volunteers for its December Open House on Sunday, December 6th – to help with the food and refreshment serving lines from 10:15am to 2:15pm. They expect approximately 400 community members for the complimentary lunch, Santa photos, musical entertainment, and holiday craft bazaar which is held from 11am to 2pm.  If you are interested in volunteering to help with the serving line, please contact Kathryn Perry by Thursday, December 3rd at 707.933.2539 or kperry@hannacenter.org

Hospice by the Bay is seeking Patient & Family Support Volunteers!  Applications for volunteer training in Sonoma are due Friday, Feb. 5.  Training dates are Feb. 17, 19, 24, 26 & March 2.  Anyone 18 or over is welcome to apply.  Visit www.hospicebythebay.org for application process and training schedule, or call Chris Simpson, Volunteer Coordinator, at 707-935.7504.

The Jewish Family and Children Services of Sonoma County needs volunteers for one of their Seniors at Home programs, Caring Connections, which provides intensive support to those with a history of mental health issues. The goal of this program is to help these seniors improve engagement in their daily lives by having a volunteer visit one hour a week. No special training or experience is required. They also have a volunteer visitor program that matches volunteers with seniors who simply need companionship. For more information, contact Barbara Tobin at barbarat@jfcs.org.

Meals on Wheels is seeking a regular driver (Fridays), and relief drivers (Monday, Tuesday and Fridays) to deliver meals from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, to Sonoma Valley seniors.  Shoppers also needed. Please contact Hunt Sharp, Driver Coordinator at:  707-996-2243 or email hunt.sharp@yahoo.com.

The Sonoma Valley Historical Society needs volunteers to serve as docents at the Depot Park Museum – perfect for all of you history buffs.  Other needs include clerical, marketing, and general maintenance help.  Contact Sandi Hansen at 938-1782 or sshansen@sonic.net.

Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance is recruiting new mentors!  In particular, they are looking for people who have experience working with 4th – 8th graders to participate in their new group mentoring program.  For more information, contact: info@sonomamentoring.org or call 707.938.1990.

Sweetwater Spectrum needs volunteers for two specific tasks at our farm:
–  Cutting and packaging micro greens, which we sell to local restaurants.
–  Harvesting produce for our Saturday morning farm stand sale (9:00 am-1:00 pm).

Teen Services Sonoma  is seeking new members to join their Board of Directors. Available positions include: Assistant Treasurer, Secretary (also a member of the Executive Committee) and Board Members at large. Join this dedicated board of community volunteers, passionate about providing Sonoma Youth with pathways toward a successful future.
