Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley is seeking volunteers for their Reading Buddies Program. Adults Read with a first-third grader or small group for one hour per week. Volunteer opportunities are Monday through Friday 4 – 6 pm at the Maxwell Park Clubhouse, or any of our school site locations (Sassarini, Dunbar, or Flowery) All adult volunteers must participate in a volunteer orientation and go through a background check. CASA (Court Appointed special Advocates for Children) seeks volunteer mentors for neglected children – The next training session begins Thursday, January 16, 2014. Classes are held over a four-day period, allowing you to gain an understanding of the Foster Care system, the Juvenile Court system and the many challenges faced by our CASA youth.
