Many of our Impact100 Sonoma members volunteer their time and expertise in support of our local nonprofits.  Here we  keep an ongoing list of current needs of the nonprofit organizations in our valley.

10,000 Degrees Sonoma Valley is seeking mentors to support Sonoma Valley High School juniors who are participating in the 10,000 Degrees Institute. The Institute serves as their flagship college preparation program that helps aspiring college students explore, plan, and launch their paths to higher education.  For information, please contact Megan Topping, mtopping@10000degrees.org, or (415) 451-4018.

The AVANCE program, held at Sassarini Elementary School, is looking for volunteers. While parents are attending parent education classes in program, children gather in two separate classrooms – an infant classroom and a toddler classroom. They need volunteer help in these two classrooms. Please contact Constance Grizzell constance@impact100sonoma.org for more information.

FISH is in need of drivers, dispatchers, and people to pick up surplus food once a week from our local stories. Other assistance is needed for the First Wednesday Food Giveaway from Redwood Empire Food Bank held at Faith Lutheran Church, 19355 Arnold Drive. Meals on Wheels is seeking a regular driver (Fridays), and relief drivers (Monday, Tuesday and Fridays) to deliver meals from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, to Sonoma Valley seniors.  Shoppers also needed. Please contact Hunt Sharp, Driver Coordinator at:  707-996-2243 or email hunt.sharp@yahoo.com.

Schools of Hope is in need of tutors! This early intervention program helps children in 1st or 2nd grade, who are struggling with reading. It serves students throughout Sonoma County including those in Sonoma Valley. Orientation for tutors will be held at the Sonoma Valley Unified School District Office on August 13 or September 17. The Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation is accepting applications for new board members, and we are particularly seeking additional representation from Sonoma Valley. The Sonoma Valley Historical Society needs volunteers to serve as docents at the Depot Park Museum – perfect for all of you history buffs.  Other needs include clerical, marketing, and general maintenance help.  Contact Sandi Hansen at 938-1782 or sshansen@sonic.net.

Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance is recruiting new mentors!  In particular, they are looking for people who have experience working with 4th – 8th graders to participate in their new group mentoring program.  For more information, contact: info@sonomamentoring.org or call 707.938.1990.

Sweetwater Spectrum has vacancies on two standing committees: (1) The Community Committee oversees new and existing volunteer and enrichment activities to enhance the resident experience. (2) The Fund Development Committee is responsible for the fundraising strategy of the organization.
