Many of our Impact100 Sonoma members volunteer their time and expertise in support of our local nonprofits.  Here we  keep an ongoing list of current needs of the nonprofit organizations in our valley. 10,000 Degrees is seeking mentors at Sonoma Valley High School  and Archbishop Hanna High School to work with juniors through their senior year graduation. 10,000 Degrees supports students from low-income households on the path to and through receiving their college degrees.  Information about the 10,000 Degrees mentoring program can be found at http://www.10000degrees.org/join-us/become-a-mentor/.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley is looking for volunteers to help with two upcoming events:

  • The BGCS Annual Benefit is held every February and the planning is underway by their Sweetheart Committee.  They are looking for fresh faces to join the Committee and get involved in this important event.
  • The first BGCS Golf Tournament scheduled for September 19 – more details to follow.

Community Matters (CM) is looking for a volunteer with excellent Internet/computer researching abilities to assist with finding viable grant possibilities for CM. Someone with previous grant-writing experience would be ideal. CM is seeking support for its nonprofit school programs, including its Safe School Ambassadors Program. FISH is in need of drivers, dispatchers, and people to pick up surplus food once a week from our local stores. Other assistance is needed for the First Wednesday Food Giveaway from Redwood Empire Food Bank held at Faith Lutheran Church, 19355 Arnold Drive. Jack London State Park is looking for volunteers to serve as docent tour leaders and/or to assist with graphic design.  If you are interested, please contact, Executive Director Tjiska Van Wyk at

Meals on Wheels is seeking a regular driver (Fridays), and relief drivers (Monday, Tuesday and Fridays) to deliver meals from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, to Sonoma Valley seniors.  Shoppers also needed. Please contact Hunt Sharp, Driver Coordinator at:  707-996-2243 or email hunt.sharp@yahoo.com.

Parent University has a variety of volunteer opportunities available — everything from teaching to tutoring, assisting with events, and supporting marketing activities such as photography and website.  If you are interested in helping Parent University, please contact Susana Garcia at susana@nvparentuniversity.org.

Social Advocates for Youth (SAY), that operates WillMar Grief Services, is currently seeking help with three things: 1) prospective board members with strong roots and connections in Sonoma, 2) summer volunteers for our grief services programs for children and teens, and 3) support in getting introduced to service clubs for presentations. Sonoma Arts Live is seeking volunteer ushers for their 2016-17 Theatre Season. Ushers arrive one hour before the show to help our front of house manager, help patrons to their seats and/or sell refreshments before a performance and at intermission. Sonoma Girl Scouts is seeking a variety of volunteer positions to support Scouting in Sonoma Valley. Sweetwater Spectrum needs volunteers for two specific tasks at our farm:
–  Cutting and packaging micro greens, which we sell to local restaurants.
–  Harvesting produce for our Saturday morning farm stand sale (9:00 am-1:00 pm).
