The AVANCE program, held at Sassarini Elementary School, is looking for volunteers. While parents are attending parent education classes in program, children gather in two separate classrooms – an infant classroom and a toddler classroom. Sweetwater Spectrum, a new housing model for adults with autism here in Sonoma, is looking for a variety of volunteers: accompanying residents to events, teaching cooking skills, joining young men and women in a several fun activities, etc. Orientation and training of volunteers is provided by Sweetwater Spectrum staff.
