Youngsters attending the new preschool at Sassarini Elementary School are adjusting to the new “school” atmosphere that will help jump-start their kindergarten and total school experiences.

Several Impact100 Sonoma board members were delighted to attend the recent “mini” dedication to commemorate the opening of the new preschool.  Laura Zimmerman, Executive Director of the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation, and Louann Carlomagna, Superintendent of the Sonoma Valley School District, welcomed donors and thanked them for helping make the dream of a second preschool in Sonoma Valley a reality.

As the plaque on the building was unveiled, Zimmerman described the “impact” that would be felt by these young students, both individually and collectively for a very long time.

Last June, the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation was awarded the 2013 $100,000 Impact Grant. The preschool opened a few months ago, and is the result of a lot of hard work by the SVEF, the school district, and Sassarini Elementary School. Impact100 Sonoma is proud to be part of this endeavor.
