As expected, our third annual Impact Dinner at Suite D did not disappoint!

Owner Sondra Bernstein provided an elegant menu, fine wine and, of course, the fabulous venue at Suite D.  Seventy-seven Impact100 Sonoma members were there to share in the delightful event – and there was no lack of fun and conversation.

The highlight of the evening was a two-way conversation between two Kathleens, fast friends who share a love of cooking and helping others. Kathleen Hill and Kathleen Weber met unexpectedly at a San Francisco Hospital where Kathleen Weber was the oncology receptionist. She recalls “the other” Kathleen bringing in her mother (“dressed to the 9s) for treatment. Fast forward 35 years and the lively stories from their pasts tell a fun and captivating tale.

Kathleen Hill, Food and Wine Editor of the Sonoma Index Tribune and EVOKE magazine shared stories of her interesting life and the many books she has authored or co-authored on a wide variety of subjects from travel to Benigno Aquino.  However she always came back to her first love: food and culinary topics, including working with Julia Childs and M. F. K. Fischer.

Kathleen Weber’s Della Fattoria Bakery in Petaluma was named one of America’s 10 Best Bread Bakeries by Bon Appétit.  She shared the story behind her love of baking bread and the release of her first book, Della Fattoria Bread.  She also announced the opening of her new restaurant later this year.

We are grateful to Sondra and Kathleen Weber as 10% of the proceeds from the dinner and book sales will be donated to Impact100 Sonoma. And kudos to Zanne Clark, who put the entire event together!
