The Impact100 Model: Women Giving as One
GATHER TOGETHER AT LEAST 100 WOMEN | EACH WOMAN CONTRIBUTES $1,000 TO GRANTS POOL | ENTIRE GRANTS POOL AWARDED TO LOCAL NONPROFITS |
Like women across the country and around the world, we at Impact100 Sonoma combine our resources to make a greater difference in our community than we could alone. Here's how:
Impact That Belies Our Size Founded in 2009 by Annette Lomont and Christine Dohrmann, Impact100 Sonoma was the first Impact100 formed in California. Today we continue to generate the largest annual grants pool of any chapter in the state, even though our community has the smallest population—a testament to our valley's culture of generosity and community engagement. Growing our number of member donors is essential for meeting the ever-growing needs of our community. |
What We Do Together
Like every community, ours has challenges that require the leadership, hard work, and wise hearts of individuals and organizations to support our neighbors and our natural resources. From 2010 thru 2019, we funded a $100,000 Impact Grant every year. As our membership grew, we were able to increase our vital support by also offering annual Community Grants between $5,000 and $20,000. In 2020, after careful study, we adopted our current model of awarding broadly disbursed Impetus Grants of up to $25,000. In 2024, we introduced the Encore Grant, a second consecutive year of the same funding for one Impetus Grant recipient.
Impact100 Sonoma is an affiliate of two organizations that facilitate women's collective giving: Philanos and Impact100 Global.
